Interface Mapping Project - Update

We commissioned the Institute for Conflict Research (ICR) some time ago (August 2005) to produce for us a list of the (47) known NIO-built physical interface structures in Belfast. We then commissioned a set of photographs of each interface and made this outline map and gallery of photographs available at our website.

As a follow-up to that project, we have again commissioned ICR recently (2008) to add to that list of NIO-built interface structures by documenting the range of defensive architecture in interface areas which exists additional to those NIO-built structures, in order to gain a more comprehensive picture of the structures which serve as physical interface boundaries and markers.

This document lists all security and segregation barriers in Belfast.

We hope you will find this resource relevant and useful.
