Lord Mayor launches Policy Agenda for the Interface

On 23rd July 2004 the Lord Mayor Tom Ekin, hosted the launch of Belfast Interface Project's policy paper, "A Policy Agenda for the Interface" in the Lord Mayor's parlour in Belfast City Hall.

The policy document initiative came from meetings of interface community representatives in 2002. It was produced with the assistance and expertise of Brendan Murtagh and Dr. Peter Shirlow.

The event was attended by representatives of a number of interface community groups.

Importantly, the paper received support from councillors representing all of the political parties within Belfast City Council.

As well as the Lord Mayor, Deputy Lord Mayor Joe O’Donnell and High Sheriff Ruth Patterson also spoke at the launch in support of the paper.
The launch received coverage in a number of Belfast papers and on BBC Radio Ulster, and in the NICVA magazine, Scope.
